- Ripe Avocados – allow your avocados to ripen on the counter for 2 to 3 days prior to making
- Fresh Lime juice - fresh is preferred over bottled
- Salt
- Cumin
- Optional Cayenne Pepper for spicy version
- Jalapeño, seeded and finely diced
- Tomatoes, diced
- Red or Yellow Sweet Onion, finely diced

- Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions for Making the Best Guacamole Recipe
Cut avocados into halves, remove seed and scoop out avocado with a spoon or with avocado tool.

Mash avocado with fork. Seed and finely dice jalapeño. Dice tomatoes, and finely dice onion. Add jalapeño, tomatoes, onion, garlic, lime juice, salt, cumin, and cayenne into large bowl. Mix all ingredients together. Allow the flavors to combine by letting the guacamole sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Hint: Allow your avocados to ripen on the counter for 2 to 3 days prior to making this recipe.
Substitutions
- Tomatoes – we prefer to use Roma or vine ripened tomatoes. You can substitute ½ can hot or ½ can original Rotel
- Onions - we prefer a sweet yellow onion over a stronger red onion but the red onion makes for a beautiful dip.
Variations
- Greek yogurt - Add nonfat plain Greek yogurt.
- Grilled corn - grilled corn on the cob and slice off stir into smashed or processed avocado.
- Cayenne pepper - add spice to your guacamole.
