Love avocado? We do too! We add avocado to everything. Try this rich, bright creamy guacamole as your next appetizer, or condiment on your burger or chicken sandwich. Use this guacamole recipe for any Mexican recipe or simply eat it with chips or dip vegetables. Try making creamy guacamole thinner for dipping with our delicious Quesadilla Recipe.

This was inspired by our Pico de Gallo and pairs well with any of these Mexican recipes.

    Creamy Guacamole Ingredients

    • Avocado - ripe avocado. When slightly squeezed, the avocado is soft. Let an avocado ist on the counter 1-2 days before using.
    • Greek Yogurt (Plain) - tastes like regular sour cream. You can substitute yogurt for sour cream or light sour cream for a less healthier version.
    • Garlic - one clove or more if you prefer. You can substitute garlic powder.
    • Lemon - fresh lemon is best for optimal flavor. You can substitute lime.
    • Olive oil - any olive oil
    • Cilantro - Fresh cilantro is best.
    • Salt - optional.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Creamy Guacamole Instructions

Prepare all ingredients and put in a food processor.

Process at high speed. Scrape down sides and process a second time until completely mixed.

Hint: Set avocado out of the refrigerator 1-2 days before making recipe.

    Substitutions

You can easily substitute greet plain yogurt or light sour cream in place of sour cream.

    Cilantro is optional.

    Variations

Like a little spice in your life?

    • Spicy - add chili pepper flakes, jalapenos, or cayenne pepper then blend
    • Cilantro isn't spicy but is optional
    • Make sauce thinner for dipping quesadillas or vegetables.

    Equipment

Food processor - Find Mine Here.

Golden Measuring Cups with Wooden Handles - Find them Here.

Rubber Spatula - Find Mine Here.

This recipe can be made by smashing the avocado and then mix in all the ingredients. The recipe may be slightly lumpy compared to using the food processor.

I added 1 Tablespoon of water so I could dip quesadillas in it. Good Recipe.
